Founded in late 2016 at Empanadas Market we are dedicated to making very happy customers with our handcrafted Argentine style empanadas made from scratch.
Our empanadas are made of a flaky, crispy and thin dough that contains one variety of the eighteen plus fillings recipes we make.
Recipes range from the traditional and very old to the fusion and new. There are the ones based on meats, on cheese, the vegetarian and the vegan.
Made every day in small batches at our Richmond kitchen in Richmond VA. We use only fresh high-quality ingredients.
The empanadas are offered Frozen Take & Bake. Actually we pioneered this concept in Richmond when we launched in 2016. They empanadas come in resealable freezer bags inside a branded cardboard box. Step by step instructions are also in included in the box. The empanadas are very easy and quick to bake at home. Simply place them frozen on a baking sheet in a hot oven and they will be ready to serve in 15 to 20 minutes.
Customers give our products, packaging and service high reviews. Of course we are not perfect, but we try to improve every single day. Over the years we have cultivated a healthy base of loyal customers in central Virginia. As an example, our sales at the Charlottesville City Market To Go in 2021 through their Lulus portal were not only strong, about 85% to 90% of our sales originated consistently from returning customers.
